POPLAR POINT
Poplar Point Campground has been a popular spot for Logan Lake, B.C. residents for over 40 years. In 2024 the separated from the Provincial Conservation Authority, giving them the opportunity to have their own unique brand identity.

THE LOGO DESIGN
Named after the Poplar tree, many of which are featured on their property, I wanted to include poplar trees in the logo design. I took an abstract approach with the design, trying to mimic the thin, pointed look of the trees.
I placed the trees on a hill with a hiking path cut out, and surrounded the whole design with a border that meets in a point at the top, to add emphasis to the name "Poplar Point".
I paired a soft serif font, with a minimal sans-serif font for the logo type, and chose a colour palette of pine green, off-white and light green.

THE CHALLENGE
Poplar Point had recently separated from the Provincial Conservation Authority, where they were used to having their branding provided for them, that looked the same as every other campground in the province.
The separation gave them the opportunity to stand out and develop their own brand personality.
I wanted to design a logo that stood out, using bold and bright colours that would stand apart from the blue and white colour palette of properties in the the Provincial Conservation Authority.
