WE LOVE 90'S MUSIC, NOT 90'S BRANDING.
101.5 The Wildcat is one of the most popular radio stations in Northern Ontario. Known for their music variety, their dynamic radio personalities, and their presence at community events, it's no wonder they're still a widely popular radio station.
However, in 2024 they found themselves looking for a new look, especially since their logo was still the same one that was used in 1991 when the radio station debuted.

wildcats leave a mark.
A lot of radio stations named after animals, such as Wolves, Foxes and Tigers, follow a cliché trend of using a paw print or claw marks as their logo.
When designing the logo for The Wildcat, we opted for something with more personality, and ended up going with a friendly looking, mascot logo of a blue cat to represent The Wildcat.
The stations previous logo felt "stuck in the 90's" according to their station manager, Lisa. In 2024, that wasn't a good look for them.
Our first step was to officially rename the station from "Wildcat Radio 101.5 FM" to "101.5 The Wildcat", as it's not really necessary to mention the terms "radio" or "FM", as most people would be able to recognize the brand as a radio station simply from "101.5".
Then, we collaborated to come up with the mascot-style logomark of the wildcat, and the rest of the brand identity was born from there.

BUILDING THE BRAND.
To make sure The Wildcat was branded to the best of our ability, we collaborated with the stations promo team to redesign every touch point the station uses on a regular basis to keep consistency with their branding.
This included business cards, letterhead, and all touch points used for community events including pull-up banners, flags, and a vehicle wrap for their community cruiser.
